A. If there is a “U” engraved on the trigger guard of your pistol, it is a factory refurbished and test fired model (often sold as a “test fired” gun). The gun is considered to be used, will come with one magazine, and is sold with a one year warranty.

A. Kahr test fires every gun it sells. The wear marks on the barrel are simply a top layer of plating being scraped by the action of the slide during test. The dirt residue is caused by the evaporation of the lubrication used during packaging. Unless there is an “U” or a “B” engraved on the trigger guard, your gun is new and carries a full warranty.

A. Kahr Arms does not endorse any particular brand of ammunition. However, not every brand of ammunition produces the same results. Please check the markings on the barrel hood of your firearm to determine the proper caliber. Kahr suggests a visit to a pistol range to test fire different brands of ammunition in the proper caliber. Kahr does not recommend steel case, reloads or un-jacketed ammunition. If non SAAMI spec ammunition is used then it would void the warranty. The Kahr pistol is rated to +P. If you use +P, make sure to clean the firearm to ensure proper maintenance. We are not responsible for any damage as a result of faulty ammunition.

A. When a firearm is discharged, there is equal pressure on both sides of the ammunition, and the cartridge will seek the path of least resistance, which is forward. However, if the rim of the cartridge is cracked, the primer pinched, or any similar damage, pressure builds up and the path of least resistance is backwards causing the grip mount to pop. It is provided as a safety mechanism to prevent bodily injury.

A. Kahr recommends a minimum of 200 rounds.

A. Yes, provided you make certain that the chamber is free of ammunition.

A. It is likely you are either failing to pull the slide fully back or you are riding the slide as you release it. We recommend that you lock back the slide, insert the magazine, and release the slide with the slide stop. This will require that you carry a load in the chamber for self defense purposes. However, the passive safety system will prevent the pistol from firing unless the trigger is pulled, even if the gun is dropped. If you would prefer not to carry a round in the chamber, you may remove a round from the magazine. This alters the angle of the bullet and will allow it to chamber even if you ride the slide.

A. Check to make sure the slide stop is installed correctly. The slide stop tab needs to be underneath the slide stop spring. For further assistance, please contact us at 508-795-3919 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm ET).

A. Insert your slide stop pin 3/4 of the way at the 4:00 o’clock position and slowly rotate it to the 3:00 o’clock position before pushing it completely through.

The slide stop tab needs to be underneath the slide stop spring.

A. The slide release on the Kahr pistol has been designed to warn the shooter when the magazine is empty. When the slide is held open on an empty magazine, the slide release is very hard to depress. To easily release the slide, either remove the empty magazine or replace it with a loaded magazine. Depressing the slide release will then be much easier.

A. Licensed gun dealers may contact one of Kahr’s stocking wholesalers listed on our website at www.kahr.com in the “where to buy” section.

A. The top rails on the Kahr polymer pistol are designed to minimize stress. It may not appear to be symmetrical because of its design.

As long as the metal frame rails are intact there is no cause of concern.

A. This is a witness mark for the polymer frame manufacturer and is present by design.

A. You may need to adjust the slide stop spring by bending the spring slightly upwards.

A. Yes, please send an email to info@kahr.com with your serial number, shipping address, and contact information and we will have one sent out to you.
